I’ve had digestive problems for as long as I can remember. Ten years ago when I was in my early 20s I was diagnosed with IBS and told that there was really nothing that could be done for me. Then about 2 years ago I started experiencing pain like I never had before. When I came to Dr. Malhotra I was in so much pain that I had almost completely stopped eating. From my very first appointment with her, I knew she was going to be the doctor that could actually help me. In our first appointment she went over every medication I was on and why I was on each one, something none of any of my other doctors have ever done. I told her about what I was experiencing and she didn’t brush off any of the symptoms I told her about. She truly listened to me as a patient and assured me that she would do everything that she could to help me get better. She told me what her game plan was and explained it all to me in lay terms that I could understand. We did multiple rounds of different tests and an endoscopy and every time she made sure I understood what was going on inside my body and why the next step we were taking was the best course of action. There were times between my appointments where my symptoms got worse and I would send her a message on the portal and every single time I got a call from her office within 10 minutes of sending the message. And each time they worked me into the schedule to make sure I wasn’t just out here suffering with no end in sight. I also want to add that there were some solutions we tried that were just too difficult for me to do with the way my life is. And instead of her saying “well you need to change your life” like most doctors do, she said “you shouldn’t have to live like that. Let’s find something that will work for you and won’t make your life any more difficult than it needs to be.” It took a lot of trial and error, but after seeing her for almost a year now I am finally pain free. Something I never thought would be possible. I’m still beside myself that she not only found what was causing the extra intense pain I came to her with, but also helped me find relief for my IBS all together. She is a doctor who truly cares about you. She is a doctor who will fight for you. She is the doctor you’ve probably been looking for. I cannot recommend her enough.
